Just a nod to say Hi
I used to fish a lot, puddles and beach, when i was a nipper, kind of gave it up when got to the age of 15, and just started getting back into the beach part again (at the tender age of 50). I’m up in Andover, so drive down to the Portsmouth area mostly, but i’m happy to travel further afield if the ground looks inviting.
Just finding my feet again after such a long break, and with bait in short supply around here, making the usual mistakes with all the artificial ones, but learning fast, and slowly stocking up the freezer with stuff that will improve my chances.
I’ve had to buy all my tackle from new again, and with money being a bit tight, please try not to laugh too hard at the bloke in the aussie hat holding a £20 rod with a £25 fixed spool reel attached. The good news is I can still cast without being a menace, and take a gnat out of the air with a spinner at 30 yards, so it aint all bad.
I got over my macky bashing days a long time ago, and tend to target bass, though I think my best chance at the moment is hitting one on the head with a lead. But I’m sure i’ll soon get the hang of things again, and once I learn what works where and when, my catch rate of 0 for 4 trips will improve.
I’m sure I’ll bump into some of you guys in due course, I’m a friendly soul, and unlikely to ignore someone I’m fishing next to. Hope to get more involved in the forums with time, even if it’s just to post blank reports, I guess it might save someone else a wasted trip.
Meanwhile keep those reports coming - I need all the help i can get here - lol
