very very interesting .i have actually seen one of the new lures you speak off and it seems they are activated by salt water ....and they emit a white pulse ...of light which i am told bass cannot resist .....£15 each i am told ...I WOULD LIKE TO PUT MY NAME DOWN TO FIELD TEST YOUR EMITTER ....i have been a fish keeper for many years ,the clown loach emits clicks when it is happy and thinking of feeding .........

I am sceptical about the flashing light bit. I am of the opinion that that is a gimmick, designed to catch unwary anglers, rather than fish! However I will not completely dismiss it.
Whilst I could make the prototypes for less than 10p, I have opted for high quality components from which I can calculate performance for comparison against effectiveness.
The overall size of the units will not be appreciably bigger than a conventional Booby Bead, but considerably more robust. I am pretty sure they will be sufficiently strong to resist the pressures down to around 350ft depth.
You're on the list!

No problem, wayner. We have been doing some serious scale work today It will be surprisingly compact for what it is hoped it will do. My first prototype will be a 3" shad type lure, for spinning/plugging. The comparative dimensions may be estimated by examining your little finger. I am unsure of weight, yet, but I am thinking in terms of 30-40gm casting weight. My wife (a very knowledgeable person) has suggested some refinements, which will require a pretty innovative fishing method on the surface. I shall be spending some time looking at various configurations for the shad embodiment, having agreed the design criteria with Maw. One thing I can assure you. It will not be a Heath Robinson lure! It will incorporate some pretty detailed science and engineering, over and above that which I have already described.

Your not going to let me forget that reference! I remember Trevor Bayliss getting a bit of stick & he had the right attitude, he ignored it. Sounds like your well on your way with the prototype, look forward to your updates.

I have assembled all materials needed for the prototypes and a decent shortlist of testers.
Thanks guys!
FYI, these jiggers should be able to survive down to well over 300ft.
The final material selection is: 4000 Gauss magnet (3mm dia.) aluminium guide duct, 0.15mm windings, 8mm OD carbon fibre casing. GRP trim.
The maximum dimensions will be 15mm x 9mm. My target is 11mm x 8.5mm.
This should make it suitable for coarse angling as well as sea fishing.

An apology!
I have had to divert from the project.
While carrying out tests of the principles, I came across an unexpected effect, which altered how I approach the issue.
Having done some research on the effect, I find that there appears to be nothing on it; certainly on line. As a result, I am now working on what might be useful in this discovery. More than that, I cannot say at the moment.
So I'm afraid I wont be producing any attractor prototypes for the foreseeable future.

That's a shame, keep plugging away & you may find a way round it.

Actually there may be a much simpler solution. I have ordered the components and will let you all know in due course, once tested.
