Clare (and anyone else who needs a hand casting!) I can cast quite well, and would be happy to spend some time helping anyone who is willing to learn. I can't guarantee that you will be a 200 yarder when I have finished, but I can promise you that you will certainly be better than when you started! I live in Southampton but will be on holiday for a week or so. Bill

casting is like hitting a golf ball correctly when done perfectly it looks slow and effortless . as everyone has said try to slow down i'm not sure how you cast and your technique but , if you do swing the lead try counting123 as slowly as poss 1 on the out swing, 2 inswing 3 then hit it make sure you fix on a point in the sky an your lead should follow this path . what ever technique you use as everyone has said have some casts with a lead get a feel back for the rod , being confident in your casting is important ,as feeling uncomfortable and unconfident can ruin a session . but as everyone has said go out and let some one watch , show and advise you .
