I was speaking in general about rod bag zips ( thanks Richieawt ) so will have a look at the I/G bag.
About the I/G Igloo shelter, I did not notice any other means of fixing the shelter than to use available beach ballast on the bottom flaps, surely this is an oversite, not everyone that owns one will fish on this type of beach. How can it be made secure on solid ground? is there any means of useing fixing pegs?
To those that can answer..cheers

Anything with weight could be used to hold down the flaps to prevent the wind getting under it. Behind the flaps there is a bar which could be pegged to the ground if on grass. The angled design would be pushed against the ground when the wind blows over it like a spoiler on a car and I was assured minimum anchoring was needed. We shall see If this is true.

Precisely, "which could be pegged" anything can be pegged! so I gather there is no proper peg fixing's to the shelter.
Perhaps then I should wait until I see one in the flesh or there are proper details on the shelter available, also would be nice to know the overall weight.
Very expensive but looks good, would have to sort out a cover for the front though ( door) maybe a Basha over it?

you're right there was no other method of fixing it on the one in the video. HOWEVER................. That is one of the prototypes and the ones that will be sold have pegs that are permanently tethered to the shelter so that they dont get lost which can peg it into grass banks etc. as brendoc said, there is a ridgid frame running around the bottom of the shelter so it can but pegged in tight, not through loops in the material they are quite keen to push the shelter into the carp market too and in the second batch , some of the shelters will be camo to appeal to the carp boys Covers for the front will be available sometime in the new year along with other accessories such as rod rests that clip on etc I'm sure Ian said the weight was 8lb which he said was comparable to the BB but heavier than the RT which is made of lighter material

I was asking questions about a door fixture for the new Igloos and mark was kind enough to gimme an update..........
just spoke to Tom (btw he's the seamstress of the outfit he used to own Titan clothing until he sold it a few years back). he now works with ian golds and a few other companys designing luggage and waterproofs and sourcing them through his contacts.
he was pretty non specific about timings of the release of the accessories other than to say 'in the new year'. but as they are not ready yet i wouldn't expect to see them until spring.
he says that the 'flaps' he has in mind will add quite a big extension to the shelter and will double up as a door to fold across the front. as i said they are trying to service the carp market and obviously those lads need a bit of space to spend the weekend in their shelter
he confirmed that the rod rest thing is in progress.
also that they are coming up with a design for a shelf that will clip onto the shelter somehow and will have places to store scissors etc also he is getting some 'bags' made which can be filled with shingle and clipped to the shelter which will serve to clamp down the skirt but leave the shelter more portable for anglers who need to move with the tide line
he kept saying that these things would cost 'pennys' which i think was probably an exaggeration but they know that they have to keep them cheap because they are being introduced to try and encourage people to buy the shelter rather than to service the people who already own them. as an example he was talking about 4 of the bags costing a tenner
as soon as i get a sniff of a date, i'll let you know
