Well the wind will be in the right quarter this afternoon, so I'll be out at 4o'clock this afternoon, to try the working prototype.
The fambly are dead impressed with it. Let's hope the fishes are as well!
I have embedded a neodymium magnet just forward of the tail, so I I think I have covered all angles. It sink slowly, head first in fresh water, so will either float, tail-up in sea water or descend nicely on casting.
A further development in mind is to soak a length of soft balsa in fish oil for a few days and to embed that in the centre of the next upgrade.
That should mean it looks like, smells like, tastes like, sounds like and swims like a wounded fish............ anything else, I may have forgotten? :fishing-smile:

Well I went out and tested the new plug, but nothing doing, PM. The wind, forecast to be southerly, was an Easterly, so no surprises.
I went at and hour after the turn of low tide; the best time. There was no significant bird activity, just a couple of patrolling birds, incl. one Tern. If they couldn't spot anything, I was not likely to.
The plug casts an easy 20-30m, with no effort. It moves very nicely but does not dive much. That may or may not be an advantage. It does mean that it works well into the shore and shallows.
I compared it to MEPS and Wedge. With decent timing, I can get the 35g wedge out to about 80-90m. I could probably do 100, if I really tried. The MEPS does about 15m.
I did see a couple of nice sights. I spotted a Harbour Seal about 200m off Gilkicker. It may have been feeding. It was not paying much attention to the couple of small angling boats (which were not having much success either). Around a Stokes Bay, just off the SBSC, the common seal was watching the youngsters straining in Kayaks. He has been around for at least 8 years now.
All in all a pleasant hour or two.
