Hello Gents Just joined last night a few piccys of my Merryfisher 605, not used half as much as i would like it to be, hopefully this summer will be worthy of the name Having new stainless safety rail fitted this week at the back of the boat, give me a bit more freeboard as i am fairly tall, also safer for the nipper. regards Tank

Thanks Pete I saw that post, very nice boat there is a very sad looking occy 625 moored near me, not been used in yonks, just sits there, gathering weed and Gull sh*t, such a waste, criminal. Some people just do not appreciate what they have sometimes. regards Tank

Very nice fishing platform
As you say though; so many wasted boats out there... the numbers you see on driveways that never go to sea; let alone those sat languishing in marinas

Thank you guy's talking about boats that stayed tied up and never seem to move or get used, my berth in the marina costs me well over £800 each year just to sit there plus £100 trailer out and back in, then there's around £300 engine service and anodes and anti foul, plus i have just spent £400 on new safety rails and thats just this year. Last year i bought a new Standard Horizon cp180 chart plotter, a new S/H gx1500 dsc radio and external command mike, that was £500 ish plus i had her totally rewired as well, £300, and next year i am thinking of fitting trim tabs to her £800 ish?, christ, if the wife See's this e-mail i will be in deep poo poo's, "I never knew you spent that much, that boat is costing us a fortune, it has to go" "yea, right sweetheart----NOT" But it just goes to show how much owning a boat can cost, that's if you look after it properly i s'pose. regards Tank

Definition of a boat: A hole in the water in to which you pour money !!!!
Still they are great fun...a day on the water truly is an adventure

Hello Brian Yes i am in Guernsey, St Sampsons marina, inner pool, i can get out 3 hours either side of high water, it's only a 3 minute drive from home and always loads of parking close to hand, it's a nice little marina. Shops, cafe's, chandlers, PUB'S all round the marina, couldn't wish for more regards Tank

She's a dream boat that is for sure. I see you have been busy with the polish as well... spoling her I especially like the little dog-legs in the rail to accomodate the flsuh-mount rod holders; very posh.

Cheers lads i put her back in the water yesterday and took her out for a testing trip to feather for a few Mackeral and just to give her a run, the weather was perfect, smooth sea, little wind, but only a couple of scad and a foul hooked sandeel. Only fly in the ointment was that my Garmin 160 fishfinder decided to go tech, it switched on ok but the backlight decided to go awol and it was impossible to read, contacted garmin and they said to send it back to them, pay them £60, and they will replace it with a brand new unit, it is just over 2 years old, so fair play i spose Will post a few piccy's as soon as i have downloaded them to photobucket regards Tank
