Been looking at two and thinking about three months time: Daiwa Wilderness and Ron Thompson Aquasafe. They both have 4 big outside pockets (essential) and are reckoned to be windproof and of course rain proof. Can't make up my mind so does anyone know better or own either of them? Please don't tell me about those multi-coloured flotation suits cos I hate them, far too restrictive and only good for boating in my view.

Titan Smocks (Titanex now). Used to be about £60-70. Brilliant! Had one for 12 yrs now & its as good as new, plenty warm enough without being too bulky. 100% waterproof. Chest & waist pockets & hood with drawstring.

Hey Pete, thanks for that. Just been to their website and quite impressed - they do a 3/4 length jacket thermally lined which looks the business to me.

Finally found one - waterproof, windproof, loads of pockets and made by Airflo who seem to have some other interesting kit too. Not many seem to sell this stuff but a fairly new website called Fishtec sold me one at a hefty discount - very pleased.

well for starters fishtec have been going for donkeys years ..as a sea angler you can be forgiven ,i believe they started in the sea market in 2003 ..as for waterproof jacket ..you always get what you pay for ..i have a whitewater aqua chief ...its six years old now cost me £200 still not leaked still very warm still not coming apart anywhere ...yes it is camo but i dont care .....oh and whitewater were advertised by fishtec when i bought my jacket but i didnt pay the extra thirty quid ...sorry had to tell you .they were in fact at one time giving out a 20 page pamphlet with every coarse angling mag you can think off ...years ago ...keep up

No need to get like that Cam, we can't all be experts in every aspect of this sport, that's why forums like this are so valuable especially to newbies.
