Thought I would mention this as it came as a pleasant surprise: Probably due to me not cleaning and oiling frequently enough, the line rollers on my Daiwa reels are getting past their best. I rang up Daiwa and asked for some spares - "How many would you like Sir?" "Three please, what will be the cost?" "Nothing, we will send you three today". Well I know that they are probably only about a pound each or less but there's postage to consider too; I was slightly shocked as well as v. happy as you can imagine when they arrived two days later.

Hi, after reading your post i thought id email daiwa a question about a problem with my opus bull reel, as its not running very smooth and makes a ting noise whilst reeling in, and within an hour i got a reply saying their repairers think its due to the click gear and one is in the post free of charge with fitting instruction. Unreal level of service in my oplnion!

Fantastic eh? I actually use the Daiwa BF5500 Reels which have proved to be quite robust - I fish at least 4 times per month on average and the oldest reel is still going strong after 3 years. I think they are a bit smaller and cheaper than the "Bull" (£30 I paid); as the man said, "why pay more......

Yep, agree 100%. I've had excellent after sales service from them too.
Drop them an email telling them, it makes a change from the generally negative press after sales service gets.
