No, no - I'm referring to someone not of this parish, but of a few others where the loonies reign. It's just the alliteration I liked. 'Crackers' would have done as well otherwise.

I can see the page now (though I'm not a facebooker myself). Populated with the usual suspects and their unique powers of unreasoning. I see they don't like you Bob. You must have said something sensible. That always upsets them.

I can just see deLux as Widow Twankey. Dialogue might be a bit too complex though.

Its funny, as a group of people the constantly say “ people don’t answer their questions” but you never get an answer when you post one on the page!!! I think it’s good that anglers have a different alternative and some no doubt think Orgs are not the answer, I must admit I some times wonder. But if you are seriously going to try to attract anglers “ using school boy terms like calling people “ fattso” is probably not the best way to endear yourself to new posters. They will find out, it is easy to sit behind the computer screen criticising people with their one line little ditties, but a totally different when you put yourself up for scrutiny. What I also find amusing is the fact that the admin hides from public view, when Bob set up RSA/UK face book page and had hidden admins, this same group of people were the most vocal in condemning the use of hidden admin. Up to know they have had about 5 people who have posted none of them are a big surprise.

That page is clearly an outlet for BL and cronies to let rip with their general abuse of anyone who argues against their nonsensical rants. They get away with a fair bit on at least two forums I know (not difficult to guess which), the only reason for which must be a sympathetic admin who shares their bigotry and allows them considerable freedom to attack others. The others, as we know, soon get chopped. This facebook page has no constraints whatsoever.
I don't think it's putting things too strongly to describe them as fools. The laughable repetition of the word "facts" is particularly inappropriate when they ignore all facts that don't suit their mad point of view - to wit, anything that seeks to restrict any fishing, commercial or otherwise, must be resisted. In general they blame the seas' ills on foreigners, the AT, scientists, anyone else they can get at, broadly in that order. Of course, they have no real influence where it matters. They are, however, vociferous with their disinformation and may mislead a few members of the otherwise apathetic diaspora of sea anglers out there on some cold fishless beach.

The page was a wonderful demonstration in so far as any doubt about the who’s who of the anti-brigade, and how few they are. Were all 67 of the likes true believers of the Luxton ideal there would be no real concern but the truth is most who liked the page have shown by their lack of post that they are far from interested so as Tom points out what you have is a half dozen people spouting utter rubbish, along with the childish name calling.
The only exception is Mr Staples who has a real problem with the Angling Trust and that is because the Truss as he likes to call them supported what the vast majority were saying which he totally disagrees with. While he may be right the fact remains we live in a democratic society one where money talks.
I do have some sympathy if I’m honest because there is little education out there and an awful lot of myths which lead sea anglers down a path of thinking certain ideas like accepting things like bag limits, closed seasons, even a license might be a cure that will lead to more and bigger fish when the truth is they more often than not will be of no benefit what so ever.
