Myself and andy (squidhead) took his 14ft boat from yarmouth to freshwater bay today to get it nearer to home for a good crack at some fantastic local bass marks and ready for the mackerel gathering sessions. He used his 4hp 4 stroke for the first time and it performed excellently. It was a really enjoyable trip and i thought i would take a few pics of our journey to share with you guys. This is the warren, or other wise known as `totland rocks`to anglers. It really has a Jurassic feel to it. This is hatherwood point with yarmouth potting boat `The john edward` coming in. Myself and andy have spent a few hectic years on this boat. The skipper is nuts and thinks nothing of setting out in a gale9 Hatherwood point between totland and alum bay The room beneath the old needles battery built by french and italian POW`s around 1860. There is a lift stuck at the top of the shaft. Local legend has it that there are bars of tin still down there. The shaft is around 150ft deep. The needles looking east. Sun corner. St Anthony's rock is just visible in the centre of thej picture. MANY a ship has found this. Scrattchels bay and sun corner, only reached by boat. All 380ft of Tennyson down. Watcome bay. Unfortunately the tunnel is no longer accsessible and can only be reached at low water spring tides. The tunnel entrance is just visible in the middle of the pic. Andys boat back on the mooring after the trip. A nice 2 pints of larger were to follow, topping off a good day.

Was a good find. Don't think she`ll fire up on the first crank though. Great petrol consumption that is! Better than diesel

Thank you all. Sure was nice to get out for a little scenery trip as well as achieving the goal of getting the boat round. Its not often we hug the coast like that.

The famous coloured sands of alum bay. The coloured vein goes inland around one and a half miles. Just about anything can get caught here.
