you will be best of starting the mags on about 7 just to see how you get on with it i have mine on 5 or 4 if im feeling luckey but you will be safe to start on 7 and work them of to suit your casting style hope this helps

yes mate have got one i think that thay cast better than the 525mags but dont have the cranking power that the penns has but it better then the abus so it will be best use it think clean beachs where a big casts helps all in all thay are very good reels think i will get a second one soon

All nice and shiny Edd,just waiting for sum mack n rag smeg all over it mate.....lolol. me mate luvs his sez it casts 4ever,although did read on a casting site that the mag breaking was if anything "too good" and stopped em doin big distance.........in other words sounds an ideal reel for me........Idiot proof........lol.
