redex is the safist way to do it but i must reinforce, dont fix unless broken . it can do more harm than good. iv seen plenty of sencors and valves go tits up from over doing it.

I can't see that it would raise the cylinder temperetures to any great extent if used briefly, that it could possibly damage the engine as cautioned. Raising the temperature to that achevied at WOT which is the way to clear ANY engine out is a good thing I think.
Why would it not be recommended for 2 strokes?
There is a product. Quicksilver Powertune. That used regularly, every fourth trip for example. Will keep a 2 stroke engine free of carbon build up in the cylinder head and exhaust.
A pronged blast at WOT now and then is no doubt the best way to keep your engine clear of carbon build up and running sweet. And use only the best quality 2 stroke oils in your autolube or pre-mix..
