Recommend me a boat !

Right,
I have finally decided to take the plunge and get a boat.
About 17 foot, capable of getting out to the Nab in a decent amount of time.
Been looking at a Shetland 536 or Alaska 500.
Looking to spend 4-6K.
Any recommendations

Maybe so but when he was in the Beach Boys he could sing. That surf music was great!

Ive had a wilson for 14 years and i cant fault it,squidlips is right about brian though, almost seems like he couldnt care less whether you buy a boat or not.

over the years he has probably made and sold thousands and he knows they cant be beaten for the price.
how he gets away with making them where he does i dont know because you could smell your way there from the a3

Hi Jeff

A few suggestions, I would suggest that the minimum size you can safely use is 15ft.

Seahogs are great first timer boats and for your budget you should get a very nice one. They do make a 17ft version if you can find one.

Other things you need to consider is how many are you going to take out? This will set your size.
Are you going to tow or moor?

Many people have their favorate boats but do keep some of your budget back for safety kit, insurrance and electronics.

I have an Orkney strikeliner and would not swap it if I won the lottery tonight, I launch nearly every day by myself, its a great fishing platform, she does not slap at anchor.
Although I am very careful about the weather when I have been caught she feels safe.

Its my first boat so maybe its just young love?

I have my eye on an alaska 500 with a nice new Honda BF40

be carefull mate that is a lot of money for a 7 year old outfit.
they are brokers so try and get £1500 off the price then you may have a good deal.
