my old 535 after i fitted a new deck and attacked the cabin with a disc cutter making it shelitie style. i have done some miles on this boat over the years i owned it. recently it has returned to our club compound with a flying bridge now

no mate,tot time was sold for serious dough a year ago or more now people pay serious money for sheltie's recently one left our club for over £5000,the buyer did'nt even look at it he paid for it to be trailed to north scotland.

thay do get good money , i was shocked when a old boy offered me £2500 for mine as it is with a very old engine,,,,,, i thought the guy was mad, but since iv noticed that thay do have appeal to some people. to me it was not enough money to replace it with anythink better, so i stuck with it .
must say since you showed me them piccys last year i have thought about cutting the cabin back , but im just to lazy.....lol think il get a newer engine first as i recently found out getting parts my engine is 42 years old now, what sort of speeds did you get with the 70 on the back???

thay do get good money , i was shocked when a old boy offered me £2500 for mine as it is with a very old engine,,,,,, i thought the guy was mad, but since iv noticed that thay do have appeal to some people. to me it was not enough money to replace it with anythink better, so i stuck with it . must say since you showed me them piccys last year i have thought about cutting the cabin back , but im just to lazy.....lol think il get a newer engine first as i recently found out getting parts my engine is 42 years old now, what sort of speeds did you get with the 70 on the back??? 30 knots easily fully loaded,when i cut it about i re-glassed all of the hull inside,fitted oak bearers every 12 inches and then glassed a new 1 inch thick deck.also i beefed up the transom to 60mm thick to take the weight of the 70 yam. i also made a new bulkhead out of resin board and converted it to right hand drive. it only used to sit about 2 inches lower in the water after doing all of this, but it made it a stronger boat. i used markalon plastic to build a screen on top of the cabin roof,the same stuff for the side windows which i carried on down the side to stop spray from coming over the side. hope this spurs you on because you wont regret it.

cheers karl, im sure i would not regret it. maybe this spring il try to get a newer/new out board , but il have to sort out some pennys first. looks like need to do some over time

cheers steve, but the boat is only rated to 80hp so any think bigger than 100hp would tare the back end off, let aloan keeping it down from fliping.....lol
are you getting a bigger lump for yours then???
