Cheers pete, i'll look into that, i'v heard the fish hook themselves. Vic, an old boy i fish a bit with, used a 4lb braid for feeder fishing. Every cast with a heavyish feeder cracked off, so we never used it after that. As i dont use a leader, i might go a little heavier, Do you use a leader with yours?

I used braid for one season. Great for bite detection ect, but if you get any tangles/wrap ups/hangers, then you loose line thats expensive to keep loading your spool! I found it great for the sand i mostly fish on, but any thing else even with leader it was a pain in the ass! I even tried floaty, but gave you the look of a bite when the sea was choppy...... Don't think you NEED it from the beach, but thats only my opinion!

Lol - I can confirm it was huge! The biggest dogfish caught that night on that (bit of) beach!!! It must have gone - ooooh - a whole pound! No problem for the braid in skilled hands.....
