Hi folks i'm a new member and have a small dinghy in Sandown bay. What are the chances do you think folks of decent bass using lures inshore at this time of year? Cheers

fished bay yesteday, the bass have definatly slowed, try very close to culver on the first of the ebb with a maria angel kiss(available from veals), but dont bother until may, early morning or late arvo will always be good, peaks out last week of august until mid sept, if you are trolling then troll with the tide n not against it sometimes this will produce more than a drift.......

Thanks all, caught 3 within 100 yds of shore Sandown Bay, I won't say exactly where as we would be visited by a gentleman from the south bearing gill nets. Rapala Sliver, dead slow with tide. see pic

Well done that man. I found out like yourself, that the best way to see if something works, is to go out and try it. It'll often produce results contrary to popular "wisdom". I might have to break out my spinning rod and get down Brook beach You should have wrapped them in a quality broadsheet though, rather than the County Press, taste much better Steve.
