Does anyone know where you can buy mackeral feathers on a 20lb-ish line rather than the normal 50lb mono? Pete, I was in Allans Marine yesterday and he has the whole range of Shakespere feathers - a lot on 30lb main & 20lb hook line ..... all feathers ie. silver foily type plus the small sabikis style ! Easy for me to pick them up & post if you want ...

Apparently they have already been catching some, a few miles off the Sussex coast. I've seen huge shoals close in at Chale in the 2nd week of April so the channel must be filling up now.

I'm going have to start doing my evening walk looking out for the bass and mackerel along the back in the evening. The water temp in the Solent is beginning to rise steadily, it hit a balmy 9 degrees yesterday. Cleaned up last year doing spy and stalk spinning techniques during early season. Time to get the Dexters in!
