See if I can add botht he flatfish the weekend. Winter time species wise it will be better which is flippin amazing. Nothing to do with angling skill neither, just lucky to live where I do!

Went to get loads of Mackerel today for rubby dubbby for sharking tomorrow. Landed 5 species on feathers, Mackerel (DOH), Pollack, Poor Cod (hooked fairly in the mouth with a pirk! ), Scad and a Herring! Not flatty bashing after all so still got that to add to my species list ;-)

Had a go for Porbeagle today from the Breakwater. Lots of positive sightings and longlines being bitten through so just had to give it a go. I had the perferct day, shirvy run down the tide right, got the ballons out right most of the time, flippin perfect except for the shark bit. I did however land a Conger Eel, probably the only man to that whilst sharking with ballons! Added to my shore species though

Gave it a go, the Breakwater offers everything a Porgie wants. Deep water, turbulent tide, rock, kelp, shite loads of Pollack, and at the moment if he can catch them a stack of mackerel. Maybe next time, I was saving this sortie for the Autumn when I think they will chase harder for the Pollack because of the lack of Mackerel, however with the 'evidence' it was worth a crack. Also it is a learning curve now for later, I know a little more what to expect, plus the local slaughter man was down. Rubby Dubby secured for that future trip!

On one of my guided sessions with holiday makers yesterday they wanted a wrasse bash because 'they're so colourful'. This we did, the highlight being one lady caught a male and femaile cuckoo. I joned in with the hope of addding to my species count, never got the Cuckoo but added Ballan and Corkwing easily.

Hi Gareth, Good to hear from you mate. Doesn't look like the weather is going to allow it now which has been typical all year. By teh time we get to go next we'll be chomping at the bit and not know what to target, hardly any of our targets have been achieved this year.........same as everyone else I know.
Where did you get that Porgie from? How deep were you fishing? Did you do one long drift, short ones like we do when we Bass (becasue these fish tend to hang in the same spot), or anchor? Bait.....Pollack or mackerel?
PM if you but need to collate as much info as posible, loads here to target.
Cheers, Mark
