Pompey market has fresh cuttles as soon as they start to show in the Channel and Solent for spawning. Seen them trawling as early as end of March. They used to be a snip at Viviers or Johnson's, but the demand in specialty restaurants and the Chinese (who luv 'em), has shot the price up over the past few years. At least you get to pick the size you want.

'Fraid not. I pick mine up off the beach! Give Viviers (link above) or Johnsons a ring and they'll probably give you some idea. I noticed a load (6 - 8) of trawlers/potters going out of Chichester Harbour on Wednesday. Given this expected 4 days or so of warm, sunny weather, I'd be surprised if there aren't some cuttles available soon.

Ok will do mate PS they are quite easy to pick up off north wight beaches too in season, but got to get them quick before they start to stink!
