Hello all, Has anyone came across this, I had a copy of it (on an old computer) & forwarded it around several forums but cant seem to find it now. It was a aerial photo of the bar with all the marks & wrecks highlighted. Cheers

Cheers lads, handy sites but these are'nt the one I was thinking of. The one Im after is a aerial photo thats been labelled specifically for anglers with all the various named sections, considered marks & wrecks. Ring any bells? Cheers all

Just had a look at the site from Mickmacey - what a storm beach this is !!! that might look rough (well yeah it clearly is) but it's nothing compared to what it can be. waves can go over the top of the bank and before they put in aload of defences at chesil cove pebbles used to be thrown towards the houses and buildings at chiswel behind the beach smashing windows and causing lots of damage

Iv got to say, your lucky to have such a good looking place to fish as chesil, theres nowhere round here that gets close to it. What does the body of water hold on the land side of the bar? Or do you just fish out to sea?

chesil beach is good yes but sometimes it can be very hit or miss even at the best times of the year. the body of water behind is called the fleet, but poeple just fish on the seaward side, the fleet is a bass and mullet nursery area, fishing is allowed but is strictly catch and release only. also boat fishing is not allowed.

I know of anglers that take dinghys (inflatable) up with them to cross fleet to get to the marks in the middle of the bar rather than have that long track across the shingle!

i dont think id like to take an infatable across due to the tide that literally pi**es though the narrow bits, would be a hell of a row then! alot of pople own small rowing boats which they use to go across.
