when i did abit of work with lyle on one of the Fladen sponsored charter boats from weymouth, we tried out some of the new gear the owner was given, one reel lasted.... and i sh*t you not.... 5 minutes! 4 others gave up the ghost that day too. rods were good as gold mind.

one peice of fladen kit i really recomend is the supersensor rods. awsome light boat rods, i used the lightest tip for bream at the weekend, 2lb8oz bream go like stink on em! i had absolutely no trouble finding the bottom with 4oz of lead in 2 knts of tide while trotting back probably 100yrds from the boat. the supersensor2 just out, even better apparently although you cant get hold of extra tips at the moment it's a f*****g tool!

that's a bit of a sweeping statement to make isn't it? what gear are you talking about in particular? please state your case with a little fact based on experience of the gear you've actually used...
i don't know about all their gear, but i've never had any probs with their floaty suits (we got 5 in the household),
my lad also uses a cheapo fladen multi rod and multi, i might think it's a bit pants compared to more expensive gear i have, but it works for him.
their stuff fit's a market that doesn't require a rod n reel that can cast 250yrd, i doubt it's any worse than other cheaper brands really, would you have entered fishing if you never done it and had to buy a pair of £100 reels and £200 rods? i doubt it, nor me. so £40 rod/reel combo's will always have their place. not everyone drives a bentley do they? so just as a ford or kia have their target market, so does fladen!
Plums!
