This must have happened a few times on the `around the island` race as i have seen a different boat hitting goose rock closer to the light than that. Looks like the one on this video hits the wreck. Funny vid!

Ah yes, good to see the Yellow Welly Brigade up to their usual high standard.
'Oh I say ! Tarquin's crashed into that big rock thingy ! Shall we join him ? Oh crikey so have we now ! Jolly good - here comes Monty ! ...... Oh dear ! Never mind daddy will buy us another one !'
Or am I stereo-typing just a tad ?

psml......................... i love seeing a WAFI getting up to there normal tricks where nothink can effect them, till it happens. it acctual looks like the 1 of the 2 boats from work we had to repaer last year(that was the round the island race hitting the needles wreck), the damage was quite somethink to see. the lead keel looked like it had been hit by a train and thay both were lucky not to sink

I found good comedy value in those 2 guys comments......it was like they were watching the most non eventful thing ever in the history of yachting........"did that boat just run aground"? "yeah".......*yawn*.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Im sure they use anchored boats as markers to aim at!

Well some yachties also fish! But I can't believe the stupidity of some crusing yacht skippers, one went right over our moring rope last year. The racers will use you as a chance to call water on an obstruction and hence loose an unwelcome close cover, its part of the cut throat tactics and if you are parked on the lay line to a racing mark expect no quarter. A quick look at a chart may show you to be on the approach roads to a harbour, sat navs will send them there and they will be to lazy to set new course until you bellow.
