yeah i no its hard work m8 and thanks for the offer a m8 of mine and myself started a club on wsf but things startined to change and ppl didnt stick to the original plan and it started to go pete tong so i pulled out as i could see it going pair shape m8.when i lived in bristol i was a member of a really good club and we would fish the south west comps and we done really well our club was always in the top 3 and we had some really good anglers who are well known like alan kershaw(kermit)rodney carter steve ace just to name a few m8 and i would like to be able to get a club going like that m8 around here.i can offer ppl casting lessions help them to inprove there fishing and rig making and some good advise once it all works out i then would like to offer the wsf boys a friendly meet/comp and to see who the best site is if you no what i mean.if your willing to learn then im willing to teach you,you dont haVE TO BE A GOOD CASTER/ANGLER AS I CAN HELP YOU BECOME THAT.all i need is ppl to come forward and say yeah il join it wont cost you anythink only your time and petrol to come to the venues and i will if enough interest pay my self for the club to join the nfsa/smaf so come on guys put your names down it will be loads of fun and you will meet other ppl and have a good laugh at times and become m8s as well so i leave it like this guys if you want to join then please post a reply thanks for taking the time to read this and sorry for my spelling and punctuation tight lines ppl howie aka lee

Myself (and i`m sure the other IOW boys) would be really up for this but there are obvious travel complications involved on both parties. It would be easy to just get the boat/hovercraft over here but getting from Ryde to a decent fishing spot would be another (expensive) story. Just an idea (have not given the pro`s and cons much thought) but we could have an `online` club. We could all fish on the same night and times in two teams consisting of the mainland boys and the island, weigh the fish, take pics, and report the catches at a given time that night or the next morning. I`m sure we trust each other to make accurate reports. It would be friendly any way. We could pick a specie fish to target (for extra points) by random draw, then each team could pick a venue from there. Then decide other points for other fish depending on the specie and weight. This could be done once a month or twice monthly depending on tides ect.... Six monthly, the `losers` would have to come the the opponents area to have a meet match. Just a thought guys. I reckon this way, we could easily do a `comp` without going to too much trouble. Any interest?

I think this could be a good way of doing a comp, if only to make things a bit easier for both sides of the solent, and only half the trouble of setting up! We could have our own little online clubs and just fish against each other that way. Cameras could be set to show date/time on each picture to validate catches ect.... The great thing about it is we wouldnt have to worry about getting home that night if we had to or shelling out on (lets face it) quite a few bob in travel.

its starting to take form now lets try and get some more interested and think abot a name for ourselves.how many are fishing the shore and how many boat boys we got so far think of a name ppl There are plenty of boats either side to my knowledge. I think a good start would be a few simple shore comps to get things into the swing of it. I guess it doesn't matter how many teams we have (the more the better i guess! Pompey team/Southampton team/IOW team ect.... Like i say this is only an idea, i know it would be better to all meet at a fixed venue, but what with the solent in the way i just cant see it getting off the ground. `Online` would be easy surly?

Deffo dave , ill get a team up then !!!! all soton anglers !!!! sorry to hijack your post howie !!!! lee. Yeah, sorry Howie....your idea mate, what do you think of doing it online? Maybe have a max number of members per team (eg 10) But, what about anglers who are not online? Do you think that would be ok? Many of my fishing chums dont have the net, but its cool if we do it `b&b members only.
