Thats it! No one is going to cheat. Its only a bit of fun with no hard cash prizes. Just fish the same hours and post the reports and have a bit of banter!

The D.A.B club in Dorset would certainly be interested in a meet/friendly comp.

Sounds good ian. Although the idea is in its infant stages, i cant see it being hard to sort out.

It sure would be. We`ll make sure we pick some good tides on a friday/saturday night of each month and just weigh the fish as they come in, write them down, take a pic and bobs yer uncle. I guess we need a few rules like......if we go by overall weight or overall numbers. The more prestigious fish would get more points or we could have a specimen hunt and just count the selected specimine....i dont know really. Maybe aim for may, to give us time to sort it?

Sounds OK - not sure how we work it - some sort of points system for each species plus length there-of ? Can you tell I'm not a match man .

Sounds OK - not sure how we work it - some sort of points system for each species plus length there-of ? Can you tell I'm not a match man . A club i was in used to just weigh the overall weight of your bag. Then more points were added on for every pound you hit. A target fish was drawn and if you caught one, you had more points added. The specimen of the comp was decided by how close to the local record you were (bloody dog fish nearly always won as they are mostly all the same size, put it this way, my 8lb7oz painted ray JUST beat a doggie) not a good way of doing this me thinks. Also some comps....the weigh in would be at 12am when h/w was at 1am!!! Work that out?

lol! Yes needs to be kept simple - something everyone can relate to - the painted ray verses the dogfish example is just mad !
