love pier fishing but it has to be shore as our pier shuts at 2145. we have rocky, sandy, shingly, and many other beaches so it has to be.hopefully boat fishing in years to come we will have to see if mick pulls his finger out and buys one

Shore fishing. I no longer enjoy standing on a boat for hours. I like to stretch the legs and fish places that boats cant get to.

I like both, but do far more shore fishing than boat. Arguably, shore fishing is much more 'difficult' in terms of trying to catch quality fish - but that's the challenge I like about it. And a great buzz when you succeed ! I've almost forgotten what that feels like now though .

Chin up Richard, better months will be here before we know it. I think i`m mentally scared from working on a potting boat for 12/16 hours a day for years. I do like a good boat trip, but not for any long periods at a time as i do find it a bit claustrophobic.

I know, I know .... hopefully we'll get a reasonable run of smoothound around here before too long - want to feel something heavy, and pulling very hard on the other end of the string ! ;D I can understand your point about boats Dave. At the other end of the scale, because of the nature of my type of work - I'm almost phobic about phones (always ascociate with problems/bad news) - can never understand these guys that come fishing and spend half the time on their mobiles !

Know what you mean mate, i`m a lot happier when my phone is turned off in general. 80% of the time i leave my phone at home or turn it off while fishing.

ive voted Shore....but am with Robster on this one.."Any" fishing that gets me away from Heathrow Airport with its endless noise and Aviation fuel stink is ok in my book. To stand alone on an empty beach or bob along in a boat at sea is my idea of heaven,....O and a few bites to go with it would be nice.!!!! Gaz
