Well congratulations Mark, and well done on posting your first photo's.
What has it got on the back to push it?
More importantly............. Knowing your and your dads guts where's the toilet going? That was the number one importance on your dads priority list.

Well congratulations Mark, and well done on posting your first photo's. What has it got on the back to push it? More importantly............. Knowing your and your dads guts where's the toilet going? Pushed along by a 25hp Yamaha at the mo. Just been serviced but might look at changing it, will wait and see how she goes. With regards to toilets, two times buckets in the shed ready to go!!

hi woody, I have in the past had a boat like that. It was a 16' cabin bass boat with a 20 hp engine. orkneys have a GREAT rep and I know she'll keep ya safe as you would expect from her. My only little gripe would be the size of engine. My old boat with a 20hp went ok but my advice would be your prob be full rev on it to get any decent knotts out of it.. If you can afford mabe a 40hp or 50hp I would have thought it would be cheaper to run a bigger engine half throttle than screaming a smaller one.

woody i think you will find that the boat is only rated for a 25hp outboard so going bigger might cause you probs with insurance.(best check it out ) i know that the max rated for the 19 footer is 50hp.

Thanks for all the kind words about the new lady in my life!! ;D :)She still has no name, answers on a postcard please......... Have made some enquiries about the engine as i did wonder about beefing it up. Have been advised that the 16ft is indeed rated upto a 25hp so will give her a chance to prove herself before doing anything hasty. Have just got 2.5hp Mariner for my auxilary and thought that was money well spent before changing the main engine as i hate rowing!!! Pick her up on Thursday and hope to get her in the water within the next 2/3 weeks for my first boat fishing trip!
