I had been planning on taking a few experienced mates over with me for their first Needles trip for a few months but other things got in the way until today We met at Keyhaven at 9am to make ready for a 10am launch, there was a bit of fog but by the time we launched it was pretty clear. We launched and paddled out of Keyhaven into a flat calm Solent We had 2.9kts of tide to help us on our way After a while we arrived at the Needles Rounded/threaded the Needles and we all anchored up in about 60ft half a mile or so off of Scratchells. Fishing was abysmal ;DPout and Doggies Oh and a whelk ;D but what a great day on the briny

Amazing pics best i have seen!Amazing action shots! You had the weather you should have gone the extra Half mile! Andy If I'd have been on my own I would have gone to my usual spot a further mile or so out but one of the lads was struggling for paddle fitness. It wasn't all about the fishing though, wanted to see how I'd go as a guide after a 15 year absence----I passed ;D I will be doing more guided trips next year to the Needles including an overnighter and Lulworth Banks

Unlucky lads, I would love to give yak fishing a try. I run a demo weekend every year at Mudeford in Dorset not for fishing as such but there is an opportunity to try out all types of fishing yaks,I'll post on here a month or so in advance
