Mick - I wouldn't bother. We have tried it this year on its own and as a cocktail bait with squid - not alot touched it :rasp: !!
I reckon spider peeler only really works when the spider peelers are moulting.....

Been using it bit over the past few months, the only thing I even had a bite on even but just pout nibbles at that.

Yeah and of course the bass love then too when they are peeling but using them any other time does seem to be a waste of time!!

is it worth taking any out on the trip this time of year as i hate waisting good crab.mick over the last few years seem to hav done ok during the winters using spider peelers frozen down from the previous summer for bass ;D seems 2 b more effective wen the seas pounding in and a big smelly bait does the trik ;D havnt relly caught alot else on it but then again dont actually fish 4 alot else ;D hope this helps as its always worth tryin something :catch:

We have used them all winter for cod bound on to squid cuttle!And have had about 50% on the cocktails and some days thats all the cod wanted. Andy

I had a fair few cod on it cocktailed with baby cuttle... It works anytime of the year Superb bait...

Its a top bait all year but early and late season for cod like now as Nick sais is really pulling the cod in when there is a choice and can save a blank.
