I am looking to buy a Rod for lure fishing. I know there are some specialist ones on the market for example the Tenryu. Unfortunatley I cant justify 300 quid for one. I am thinking of the 2 Piece Mike Ladle Surespin.Does anybody have one? All opinions gratefully received.
Thanks
Graham

Heh, I'd be up for one of them "red rods" if I win the lottery. Someone let a Whisker go at a very good price on here not so long back. The Shimano Beastmaster spin is supposed to perform way out of its price range too. Some of the old Greys GRX range may be worth a look for heavier lures over 30g. Mind you if the Sure Spin is good enough for Mr Ladle...

Dont laugh about this but the fladden ED SCHLIFKE rock hopper plugger is a really nice bit of kit. Single leg eyes ,cork handle and a really lite weight blank that comes out every summer :sunny:

BUT didnt normark do 2 or 3 versions weight classes   i bought the fladden as a real fun rod for nipper but now we argue about whos rod it is

I think your right BK I had the 11ft 1-3oz broke it 3rd time I used it ;D scotties replaced and I sold it... more than likely it was a victim of my heavy hands but hey ho!

not 100 % sure--- 99% tho that normark did do a couple of diffrent versions and got to admit ive only heard good things about these, and it seems fladden have carried this on.. ED THE BASS must have a big say in how the rods turn out ;D Rods for the nipper....just a way of sneakin an extra 1 or 2 in the collection, but i do like usin it , great fun ;D will keep eyes peeled incase a normark version pops up anywer and have a look...just for nipper

Thanks for all the advice. The Mike Ladle seems to be shading it at the moment. I know a lot comes down to personal choice I can go to about £125 but I always like to get the opinions of people on here who know more about the subject than I do. Your advice and comments are much appreciated. Graham
