Bought a pair of these 3 years ago now
built by chris dance with fuji alconites the finish WAS A1......
Ive used them hard, fished all over the place with them , even in ENGLAND
At first i thought i had made the biggest boo boo ever, £700 down the drain ....
couldnt get on with em, cast straight......just couldnt work it out until i fished one alongside my T ZERO ...... i had put the top hand grip too close to the butt(reel down) and was seriously cramping my arms ........ should have known just by feel but was too busy moaning that i didnt like them lesson learned, grips changed and havent looked back since
Nice and light , tippy enough to show the slightest of knocks but pokey enough to cast a decent distance, done 220 metres or 240 yards with mine at stenning so a better caster would get more .....
These rods are at home with leads from 3oz upwards, they fish great with 4oz and 5oz that i use bassing regular and will handle a 175g if needed
The real test of a rod is fishability and enjoyment of use and these for me come up trumps at a range of marks and situations - really versatile . The tip sits nicely in the tide and shows bites well but isnt so soft that it just collapses .
Ive only had to replace one tip ring in 3 years -so justification of the alconites and these rods have been hammered
The butt is quite slim and takes 27mm coasters and ive fitted a couple of short reducers for reel down but they do work nicely with the reel up i believe at 13ft2inches fall into both types of reel placement hi or lo
Overall they have taken everything ive thrown at them and landed some big fish eels and stingers with ease but also with enough feel to enjoy bream etc
I wouldnt recommend these rods for real heavy work and fishing 6oz all the time , theres better suited to that but for mixed and clean ground there a winner .......
im sure a few other members have 45oos and would be interested in your thoughts as well
oh........and they dont flop around like a windsock when its blowing hard
