Just picked up one of these rods cheap.
Its 12ft carbon with coasters.
It's called a Leeda Riptide pro multiplier rod
I am very impressed so far, i think it retails about £60 but if you can pick one up cheap, i really endorse this rod.
I've always fished with either zziplex or conoflex until last year when i sold all my stuff to finance the boat and kitting it out. Then i realised that even if i wanted to pop down the beach smut fishing i had no equipment left, so i decided to go down the local tackle shop and have a look around for a cheap rod. Well i come out of there not believing how bad these cheap rods are.
Cut a long story short, ended up with a Leeda riptide 12 ft multiplier rod and although i've only fished one session with it, It feels as if its got really good casting capabilities, i was prob hitting 100 yards with a bit of a face on blow. So should be able to fish 140 yards in the right conditions.
Seems quite a strong powerful rod but not quite as tippy as i would like, just a more thru action.
It handled small pups ok as you would expect but expect it to handled larger fish without any problems.
