After much asking of the locals in Dungeness, they were all of the opinion that 6/7/8oz uptide leads with long wires were the kiddy
to fight against the prevailing tidal conditions at the point.
I can only speak of my experience .....but am pleased to report
that leads available thru one of our members were "Top Bollx"
not only in casting distance but in holding in an uptide beach situation.
I used DCA Breakout leads in sizes 6 and 7oz spreading the wires
out at rightangles, this was enough (well also with an extra bit of line payed out) to hold in quite a strong tide swell....albeit the tide size was small....boy it ripped around that corner at HW.
I added cable ties around the wires to stop em breaking out
at HW on the 7oz size and found this to be enough to hold.
O and yes......I lost 7 complete sets so there not " Lose Proof"
so guess Ill be queing at the Fareham Fellers door for some
replacments some time soon.
Nice one Bazz.!!!!!!!!!
