Thats the gunmetal grey and green one to you and me lol.
Been useing it for casting practice and got to say its the best Abu! that I have owned todate!
No mags but two blocks while its running in, and it performed faultless, this is one super smooth reel!
Definitely a keeper and a reel that I am looking forward to fishing with.
Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of getting one.

yep, your right, very technical stuff this mate; sometimes people buy the ABU Rocket CT (thats the one with no mags only blocks) and have a mag machined in, crazy eh? or buy the mag elite with level wind and take the level wind off to convert to CT when there is a model of mag elite without the level wind which is already CT. Thing is with ABU's mate you can just let your imagination run wild and do all sorts of stuff to them with out seeming an IDIOT!!!!
no,no,no, I never use the mags on a reel (I didn't take them out Honest!) unless I am fishing into the wind, just that the pro came with them already in, like most others now. The blocks are only in for a short while until the reel settle's down and I get the feel of it and can suss out what sort of oil it needs in it., then the blocks come out! But regardless of my tinkering, this is a very good reel

I've never actually heard of it lighty... so lets say that you have no mags engaged, and two blocks. What makes it different from say a blue elite or a CT rocket? Are the bearings different or something? I've got 2x 6500 reels (both mags) and run 1 block, yellow rocket fuel and adjust the mags as necessary (usually run about 4). This is a good fishing tune for me, just interested in other people's results

Ive got new mag elites, old mag elites, oranges, greens, silvers etc, but the pro seems much better, though I can't tell you what the difference is ie bearings etc m8 I fish Brightstone where I believe a long cast helps also a long cast for the early painteds at chale, thats my main reason for wopping out and having gear that can do it.Its also my belief that if I can get the lead to pull off line faster than the spool can spin then less nests? so I tend to tune my reels so that they spin no longer than about 7/8 seconds and I do this with oil. My preference is Halfords Finish Line Chain and gear oil, also I use there grease which is brill, if you ride mountain bikes and use it you'll know what I mean. So its no brake blocks, no mags just oil which seems to work for me. ok I get the occasional fluff but generally I fish trouble free, I also think that it helps if you lay the line on right and I do that different to most as well! lol
