Out on the Hamble 21st March

Well - 2nd time out on my new Kayak on the Hamble.

The weather was absolutley lovely



Met Mike in the car park with his new toy.



And my new baby!



Anyway soon Mike got used to getting around and after a bit practised clipping onto a buoy, before paddling all the way down past the Rising Sun Pub in Warsash, and we found a half submerged Spit near Hamble where we took a few pics-

Then we headed out toward the Southampton water main shipping channel for and hours fishing and I practised anchoring up -



Easy!!! Well, got interesting when a massive container ship came along!!!

Mike clipped onto me as he didn't have an anchor trolley-



No fish unfortunatley, and after an hour and slack tide, we headed home.

All in all a great day and brilliant weather - also bumped into Scotty a few times (no yak though as he was working)

Off to Bude for a few days (Shore fishing !!! ) now but not taking the Yak. Hopefully I'll get my first fish of the year!!!

Nice Report and nice pics guys. I must admit i am tempted with the yak fishing myself after seeing all the guys out in there yaks off Eastney the other day.
