I know it's mainly a summer sport but when is it worth having a chuck with the spinners/lures?

Chance of a few bass in april and of course the return of the mack. May should see the spinning in full flight with bass hitting the shores along with the macky after the whitebait. Most of the shoals of bass doing this are small ones, but the odd shoal will contain some very nice size bass for the spinner. Early morning and mid to late evening being the best times to have a go. If your lucky enough to be in casting range of a good shoal of bass, cast right over the shoal as the bigger fish will normally be on the outside of the circle.
