Southsea - The blocks

Lots of chores done on my week off so a daylight FPO.

Loaded up the Kayak and headed for the 'blocks and some plaice

Beautiful sunny day, F3 - bit choppy on top - wave height 0.2 (all important now !)

FCBC came along too ....

My K ready for Launch ...



Paddled out for miles - well about a mile to near the Dolphin marker and anchored up ...



FCBC in his "do I look cool or what" pose ....



Tried all sorts of techniques with little result, FCBC had a stonking bite and was tugging in a BIG plaice ... about a foot from the surface it decided the bottom was better so spat the hook and off he went - 4lb FCBC reckons ...

HW came and a strong current which gave me a scarey moment with my anchor .... the trolley moved admidships and started to swamp the K ... but my skilfull seamanship saved the day ...

Decided to try and drift a little with the tide to give some movement to the bait ... FCBC shouted - yep a 3lb Plaice ;D

At least I can read your exploits too as Rich,s are top bananna
but at least in your stories there is a bit of panic swamping
and peeing in your Rubber Johny...

O is Johns dry suit a navy seal variety ...hes got the "well ard"
