Im fairly new to fishing, and ive tried using a handful of baits, but one i always seem to have problems with, is sandeel. i find it hard enough feeding the sandeel on the hook, but what i really cannot seem to do, is wrap the bait elastic around the sandeel. either the elastic keeps coming undone, or the sandeel starts spinning on my hook, creating the same problem. Is there an easy way to bait up the dreaded sandeel?!?!

You can bait up sandeel different ways,
The main way is cut the head and tail off and thread the worm gently on the hook similar to if you were threading on a ragworm. The sandeel will generally stay on the hook fine then, it also has a good scent trail from the blood etc. If you still need to use baiting elastic hold the elastic and eel together firmly (the end away from the hook) with one hand and then wrap it on tightly with the other.

different makes of sandeel make a big difference too. I always go for "Ammo" they're the best in my opinion if you can get them locally. A lot of other brands tend to be slimey and a bit soft on the hook. Ammo tend to be a lot more firm. Others may have their own favourates?

Ammo are the best, as long as the shop that is selling them looks after them too
