Now the winds have finally died down and promise of sunshine - took a trip out off Eastney this morning 0530 - 1030 Fished first few hours opp St Georges road and then off the blocks in the hope of a late Plaice ... First cast - decent bite - nice 2lb Bass Few other knocks and small schoolies then all went quiet - so a paddle to the blocks .. First cast again - 1Lb Bass Then nothing for a while, was busy re-baiting one rod when the other went mad and arched and the reel drag set off like a steam train ... Nice 4-5lb Smut on rag ... Just a bit of fun trying to get this one in, just trying to keep your balance but great fun on light gear - roll on that 20lb'er ;D

:dummy: nice report mate, some wicked fish caught bet it can be diffecult to stay balanced in a kayak playing a large fish?? Common Skate to 175lbs Tope to 60lbs and Conger to 50lbs have all been landed on yaks in the U.K. most of the kayaks that us yakfishermen use have higher primary stability compared to the traditional sit in type kayak--I can stand up in both of mine ;)and most of the other models
