Had planned going offshore this weekend but the unpredictable weather made it too much of a risk. Decided the only thing to do was to target the inshore Smoothies.Phoned Allans where I normally get my peeler..........sold out So a crabbing I did go managed to find plenty almost all hardbacks. Arrived at the launch site around midnight and was rigged and on the water for about 1am. Paddled out to a depth of 8-9ft and straight away was into loads of solent weed Decided to head east and inshore to a depth of 5ft to try and avoid the worst of the weed I've never seen anything like what I experienced on the paddle, there were fish jumping all round the yak. Anchored up in my chosen spot and within 5 minutes it was game on After a spirited fight the smallest smoothy of the night was in the yak On the light spinning rod coupled with an abu 6000 it put up a great fight. Didn't have to wait too long for number 2,bigger this time I had 5 altogether, absolutely fantastic sport,Smoothies on spinning gear are like tope on boat gear Paddled back happy at HW and with a beautiful sunrise whilst swearing at the weather forecasters
