As I have only just started making my own rigs could anyone give me any advise on how to tie the hooks on after preparing the rest of the rig ? I tie the hook and tighten it by wrapping the line round my finger and dont always get the hook knot tight enough especialy with little 3 hook flappers? :bash:

A pair of small long nosed plyers helps Mark, with a bit of spit thrown in.

So the plyers hold the hook yeah ? How do you then pull it tight coz you cannot use plers on a small swivel with two small beeds and crimps , I have been turning the line around my fingers and thenpulling tight which then causes the line to lose its natural shape.

you can hold the swivel with the plyers Mark, hold the swivel body not the eye, plyers have to be small though, one of those cheap miniature sets work. long nose or maybe needle nose . i dont grip the hook with them though, i just put the hook round the plyer jaws and pull, usually holding the line tail with another pair. its the only way i can do it. you probably got banana hands like me, ;D

Try using amnesia snood line. This hardly kinks but if it does just run your fingers down it and it will straighten out.

??. hold hook with fingers , spit on line for lube, wrap line around other hand & pull tight. simples cant see what the problem is? hooks that are too small to hold safely with fingers get held in pliers.

You can use a knot puller, do a google for them and you'll see them. Mostly on freshwater sites.
