i have to apoligise first this will be a bit long winded. i've just saved up enough money £1000 to be able to refit my boat as much as i can with that much cash. im hoping to get the boat in the water march next year i was wondering ( i live in gosport)
1) does any one know where i can buy fibre glass, resin and gel coating?
2) would it be ok to buy a chart plotter and fish finder now ready for next year? and what would be a good price for these?
3) does any one know of any chandleries local to gosport or any internet sites where i can buy other things needed to kit out my boat. ( have rather a big list of things to buy) i've looked on a few web site but things seem a bit pricey (not that i know what a good price for thngs are) and most chandleries i've looked at mostly cater for yachting or motor boating.
thanks very much lewis

aqua fax in hamble will look after you for most boaty bits or as said the barge for 2nd hand stuff. as for a chart ploter/ finder, id say buy close to when you want to use it so you get the warinty should you have the sort of luck i have...lol, but the garmin stuff seems to be fair for the prices. as for glass ect most boat yards will sell it to you but stay away from the chandlerys or swindlerys as we call them , thay are a rip off and a last resort.

Portsmouth Fibreglass.
Unit 3, Farlington Industrial Estate, Marshlands Spur, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 1TL
Used them when they were Strand Glass, they were ok, they say they sell to the public.
Hope this might help.

I agree with monkeynuts you cant go far wrong with a Garmin. Sometimes Marine superstore do specials on chartplotters so its always worth looking in there. As for general boat stuff I must admit I use ebay for most of my gear. Good luck with your boat and have fun ;D
