hi, has anyone tried these slug-go lures? they were in sea angler mag with henry gilbey using them. nearly ordered some last night but changed my mind, more because of the price of the hooks you are meant to use with them (60pence each)

I've been using them for 15 years with ordinary hooks and leadheads for pollack no problem. Just make sure that they're straight when you thread them on the hooks.

i had a go with these soft lures last year with not alot of luck. drawn in by the weedless way of fishing it looks and sounds good. i think they are a difficult lure to master especially if your used to cranking hard lures, reeling like mad and bringing your plug to life. the slug-go and megabass xlayer you have to be sloooow and twitchy. put this with the poor distance acheived with these lures and the lack of connection i couldnt get on with them.
