what baits are best off the boat or worth trying off the boat thinking mainly inshore marks really

If you can get yourself some fresh mackerel as you first go out, use them! Could have a doggie fest on your hands though   |

As an all round bait then squid is pretty good. Catches all year round. Whole or cut into thin strips it will pick up a variety of species.
