Sonik rods?  I've read lots of opinions about them on the forums, but wonder how many people have actually owned one that broke under normal fishing conditions? |

I have 2 sk13s and neither one has snapped , pulling in moutains of weed and double figure hounds :win: , im not the biggest of casters but get far enough to get in amongst the fish ;D

a chap called neil who casts at stening over grass uses a sonik and has hit 220 yards with his without it goin crack , you pays your money and takes a chance,some break some dont but pretty much the same with all rods. cuckoo had 59lb of weed and a 1lb 5oz smutt all at once or was it 11 lb smutt........im sure he will enlighten us  :win: |

Seriously though I'm curious because when they were first launched I thought I'll sit on my hands and wait to see what people think. I've heard lots of folk saying they break, but then most of those knew someone who knew someone who had one break. Its hard to get realistic picture. I wonder if the blanks are thin walled? in which case it could be down to careless handling by the factory staff, or the owners. Or is it indifferent quality control?

I have one that has performed well lately, albeit dragging in 40lb lumps of weed and double shots of spider crab!
They're a decent mid-range rod.

imho bad casting snaps rods. Not many rods can put up with a power cast with the lead on the inside of the tip
