Im trying to get some feedback from users of the old model versus the new 09 jobby.
I aint touched /fiddled with/waggled/cast either and living at Heathrow am not likely to either. so am reliant on your experience having used one or both.
I had a AFAW match and although crisp in action found it too tippy and difficult to cast (bad back) and have ended up using a Abu Suveran RX which has a much softer tip and is more user friendly (for me that is) to OTG cast with a nice slow build up so as not to feck me back up and nest my 525.
It was suggested the old/new TT match with its thru action would be a suitable alternative to the abu on solent shingle beaches but I didnt know if to shop around for an OLD one...or the NEW 2009 version.
Ta for any help.

ben aka HENRY has a pair of tt ld, seem very nice, hada couple casts with it ;D
quite light weight, very slim but with enough grunt to cast a decent distance and handle decent fish.......the match, super match ,lite and ld are all pretty user freindly so should be ok
if a bad back is the problem rekon you really need to try before you buy gaz just incase , the tip tornados are really popular so sumbody must be able to let you have a go . alot of people find getting a long rod 14 foot plus thats quite soft helps them cast a decent distance easily with just a simple over head thump.....its wether you wana use such a rod
check out the century website and have a good read on the various models, the knew models all have a metal collar on the spigot apart from that only an owner can tell you whats been changed, if anything .
take a trip to essex, walton and give the metalites a goin over? the new flicktip

I have a BB already Lighty and as it is a J type 15 foot blank I find it easier to use with FS and over head cast to 150yds with 6oz leads.
its the thru action im looking for when using a multi with OTG cast and was told the TT matches were of that blank "C " type mate.

Gazza i may be wrong gaz but a soft thru action rod for casting O T G with a multi may not be your best option, i would deffo have a go with a couple of rods first m8 to see if it suits.......what are you fishing with at the mo for this type of situation? not trying to put a spanner in the works ,just trying to maybe save you a bit of dosh perhaps you could use a stiffer rod that will pick the lead up cleaner and just hit it late.....once you have turned into the cast.....putting less strain on your back.............just a thought

Gazza, I thought the b/b's were C type, I could be wrong though? are you sure they are J? I too use it for fixed spool work and also pendulum with a multiplier. If its a C type you want then perhaps you should look at a CM Express, thats a C and so easy to cast, better in my opinion than a TT
