I am a big fan of Diawa reels and don't know of any I would turn down except maybe the Emcasts where the spool skirts are too shallow in my view. They all seem to be well made and smooth operators.

Very good reels for the money. It shows how well made they are cos they`ve been around for donkeys years but a lot of the top tournament casters still use them! Very simple basic reels. They cast well, the drag`s good enough for anything your likely to encounter on a clean beach. There very little to go wrong with them, no magnets, ratchets etc. Once you get the brake blocks set up to your liking they will never let you down. Dont be temped to fit a power handle though or you will strip the gears!
