Evening all... I'm Rob from Moray. Found this forum from a post on another forum - looks excellent. I mainly boat fish. keep my boat in Banff marina. It's a leeward 18 but I am hoping to move up to a larger coded boat next year (once I have completed the necessary qualifications!) If the weather cheered up a bit -- might get some fishing in.. oh well at least I can get the chicken house finished for SWMBO  |

High Rob, welcome to B&B  I lived in Moray (Near Aberlour) for 3 - 4 years, before moving back down south again. Used to visit the coastal places like Banff quite a bit. Did the odd little bit of shore fishing with not very impressive results - except for the red codling lol ! No local knowledge to draw on ! What's the boat fishing like ? |

Shore fishing is not bad around places like Portsoy, also pleanty of beaches but other than the odd flounder, had nothing off the beach Boat fishing - Still finding marks and exploring - but it's not bad in places - can usually guarantee a Cod - but am still hunting for flatties - know they are there but finding the right place is difficult. Most unusual catch in the boat has been a weaver fish Also had a Minke whale surface about 40' from us last year - considerably bigger than my 6m boat!! Rob |
