Being up in Gloucester this weekend and no chance of Sea fishing I took my Father in law's (to be!) offer up for a bit of fly fishing. Seems to be getting a regular thing now when I come up to visit! ;D The plan was to fish lechlade (in a row boat this time) with the promise of some stonking trout as they stock rainbows to 30lb On turning up we found that the lake had to close as the water temp was too high Plan b was to fish bushylease.....a bigger lake with smaller fish but still should be a laugh. Rocked up and got the last boat available. Always makes me laugh when you see all the hardcore gents in their tweed jackets and hats, waistcoats etc... I get out the car in a pair of jeans, vest top and a cowboy hat and they look at you as if to think "what the hell does he think he is doing here" To cut these ramblings a bit shorter, I saw two fish caught all day buy the country gents and camo'd up stalkers.. Me and Pete pulled 11 rainbows out which put a few peoples noses out of joint......FUNNY AS When asked (on several occasions) "what fly are you using there old chap"......the answer they got was a hairy boobie ;D
