ive got a few hermit crabs in my freezer never used hermit before just wondered wat everone elses opinion on them was??

fished a couple of times with them after a good blow on chesil and had bass and smuts on them . there not that bad but peeler is better .

hermits was all we used to use a few years back just not that easy to get hold of now i think

anyone know where to get cheap peelers. sick of paying a quid a go for em. the demand sets the price im afraid m8, try havin a look yourself, this time of year a few can be found on most beaches around groynes and weedy areas ;D |

i only got them hermits cuz i got them for 2 quid for 8 so i bought like a hundred so i bloody hope they aint rubbish!!

there ok mate but id only use them if they were alive or only upto 1 mouth in the freezer after that the freshnes would of gone and the scent not as strong . if there were a lot of smuts on the feed in one area were your fishing then you might be ok but it will be hard work if there not around feeding in numbers. id stick with the live stuff mate as the scent and juices , you cant beat it.
you could allways fish with 1 fresh crab and use 1 frozen to bolk the bait out abit . use something like a manta 6/0 .
