Large commercial ships are still permitted to use more toxic antifoul than pleasure craft Sorry Sunny gotta correct you on that one mate. The pleasure craft rules on antifoul are far more relaxed than in the commercial sector. We are basically down to using nonstick paint now which works like a nonstick frying pan. If we stay keep moving the hull stays clean, but stop for more than a few days and you start to get growth. For internal pipework we use a marine growth prevention system which is an electrial current that separates the sodium and chlorine from the salt in the water, which kills the beasties, once the water exits the ship the sodium and chlorine recombine and all you have left is the salt you had to start with plus a load of dead beasties! If we got caught using the same antifoulings you guys use on your boats we would be spending a longtime behind bars! As for eating mullet they dont call them s**t eaters for nothing! I wouldnt touch one if you paid me!
